How Much Does a Wedding Cost in the Philippines? Sourced Ranges
Tuesday, August 18, 2026
Quick answer
Metrobank's 2021 article states ₱122,000 to ₱584,000 for a church wedding with at least 100 guests, ₱50,000 to ₱250,000 for an intimate wedding of 20 to 50 guests, and ₱1,060 to ₱2,020 in paperwork for a civil ceremony. Catering is the big variable, at about ₱500 to ₱1,000 per head.
Your wedding's total is a calculation with three terms, and you can run it in ten minutes with your own guest list:
Total ≈ (per-head cost × guests) + costs that do not move + the charges nobody quotes you.
This page sticks to figures we could trace to a named, dated source, and says where sources disagree or a number does not exist. We found no official average. For turning a total into a category plan and worksheet, see our wedding budget guide; this page is the price evidence behind it.

What published sources say a wedding costs
| Wedding type | Range | Source and date | Scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| Civil ceremony, paperwork only | ₱1,060 to ₱2,020 | PSA Serbilis and three city pages, read 30 Sep 2026 | Two birth certificates, CENOMARs where listed, city fees; no officiant fee |
| Intimate, 20 to 50 guests | ₱50,000 to ₱250,000 | Nuptials.ph, Jun 2025 | Compiled from forums and budget breakdowns; city hall is the low end, a boutique venue with catering the high end |
| Reception, 150 guests | ₱50,000 to ₱300,000 | Metrobank, Oct 2021 | The reception only; the bank says more guests cost more |
| Church wedding, 100+ guests | ₱122,000 to ₱584,000 | Metrobank, Oct 2021 | The bank's stated total; its listed minimums add to roughly ₱88,000 to ₱92,000 (our sum), so it is not a plain sum |
These are not like for like: different years, guest counts and scopes. The paperwork row breaks down in our civil wedding requirements guide: ₱1,670 in Quezon City, ₱2,020 in Davao City, and ₱1,060 to ₱1,160 in Tangub City, whose checklist has no CENOMAR.
What scales, and what does not
| Scales with every guest you add | Fixed once you have booked it |
|---|---|
| Catering, per head | Photo and video coverage |
| Service charge and VAT on catering | Coordination |
| Venue capacity tier, once you cross it | The gown, the barong, the rings |
| Tables, chairs, linen, centrepieces | Church or officiant fee |
| Favors and seating cards | Government fees for the license |
| Mobile bar, if priced per head | Bridal hair and makeup |
The right-hand column barely notices whether you invite 80 people or 300. The left-hand column is your budget's slope, which is why trimming the guest list works and cutting the photographer usually does not. Nuptials.ph (Feb 2020) says catering takes about 45 to 50 percent of a wedding budget.
What catering per head actually looks like
| Source | Rate | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Nuptials.ph, Feb 2020 | From about ₱500 to ₱1,000 per person | A full-course meal to high-end dishes |
| Nuptials.ph, Feb 2020 | ₱50,000 to ₱185,000 for 100 guests | A low-priced caterer up to a high-end one |
| Nuptials.ph, Jun 2025 | ₱500 to ₱1,000 per head | Guest list of 30 to 50, so ₱15,000 to ₱50,000 |
| Executive Gourmet, Metro Manila, page undated | ₱345 to ₱1,250 per person | All its event types, not weddings alone |
Compare weddings to weddings: the last range includes seminars and packed meals, so its ₱345 floor is not a reception buffet. Nuptials.ph gives about ₱500 to ₱1,000 in both 2020 and 2025, and the caterer's wider range brackets it.
Four traps sit behind the headline rate.
- Minimum guests. Nuptials.ph (Feb 2020) gives an example: a package of 100 guests at ₱600 per plate still costs ₱60,000 if only 95 confirm.
- Uninvited extras. The same article says to add about 5 to 10 heads to the catering count.
- Service charge and VAT. As an illustration, a ₱1,000 quote plus a 10% service charge (our assumption, not a published rate) and 12% VAT (the standard rate; RA 9337 provided for it) becomes ₱1,232 (₱1,000 × 1.10 × 1.12). Use the figures in your own quote, and ask whether the rate already includes both.
- Service style. Nuptials.ph says buffet is cost-efficient but guests may take seconds, while plated service gives no seconds and needs a confirmed count. We found no dated figure for the price gap, so request both quotes for one menu.
100, 200 and 300 guests
Our arithmetic on the ₱500 to ₱1,000 range and the illustrative ₱1,232 rate above:
| Confirmed guests | At ₱500/head | At ₱1,000/head | At ₱1,232 effective |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | ₱50,000 | ₱100,000 | ₱123,200 |
| 200 | ₱100,000 | ₱200,000 | ₱246,400 |
| 300 | ₱150,000 | ₱300,000 | ₱369,600 |
That is food alone, before a flower. Each extra 100 guests adds ₱50,000 to ₱123,200 at these rates, and more on plated service or in a hotel.

Where the two agree, that is a signal; where they differ, both are shown.

| Photo and video | ₱5,000 to ₱75,000 | ₱10,000 to ₱30,000 |

Metrobank's 2021 figures are five years old and Nuptials.ph's cover 20 to 50 guests, so neither transfers to your wedding unchanged. Planner and coordinator are different, sometimes overlapping services; ask what each quote covers.
The charges nobody quotes you
Budgets break on charges that appear late and attach to nothing you booked. We found no dated peso figure for most, so treat this as a list of questions.
| Charge | What to ask | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Air-conditioned church | Whether the parish adds a fee for electricity | Metrobank, Oct 2021: such churches charge extra |
| Corkage | The fee per item for outside liquor, cake or lechon | See venue corkage |
| Venue overtime | The per-hour rate, in writing | Ask the venue |
| Peak dates | Whether your date is in peak season or on a weekend | Nuptials.ph, Jun 2025: December to February, June and weekends may cost more |
| Tips and gratuities | What is customary for your vendor lineup | Ask your coordinator |
Nuptials.ph (2025) also says Metro Manila venues tend to be pricier than provincial ones, without a percentage. Get quotes in your own city.
Three levers, in order of power
- Guest count. It moves the whole scaling column at once. Twenty fewer guests at ₱1,232 is ₱24,640 back, and it shrinks your venue tier, tables and favors. Our guest list guide is about deciding who stays.
- Service style. Get buffet and plated quotes from one caterer and multiply the gap by your guest count.
- Per-copy print costs. At Nuptials.ph's ₱30 to ₱100 per printed invitation, 100 invitations cost ₱3,000 to ₱10,000 before delivery. A digital invitation has no per-copy print cost, which is why Imbitasyon Ko sells plans as one-time payments; see pricing. For a ranked list of savings, see how to save money on a wedding.
Run your own number
- Write down your confirmed guest count and add 5 to 10 heads.
- Multiply by a per-head rate from a real quote, or from the ₱500 to ₱1,000 range as a placeholder.
- Add the service charge and VAT shown in your caterer's quote (1.232 applies only if they match our 10% and 12% illustration), unless the quote already includes them.
- Add your fixed items from the table above, replacing each range with a quote as it arrives.
- Add the charges from the questions table that apply to you, then a reserve, sized as in the budget guide.
That number describes your wedding far better than any published average, because it was built from your list and your city's rates. For a small list, see our intimate wedding guide.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the average wedding cost in the Philippines?
We found no official average. Metrobank's 2021 article states ₱122,000 to ₱584,000 for a church wedding with at least 100 guests, and Nuptials.ph gives ₱50,000 to ₱250,000 for an intimate wedding in 2025. Treat both as starting estimates and rebuild the total from your own guest count.
How much does a civil wedding cost in the Philippines?
The paperwork alone is about ₱1,670 in Quezon City and ₱2,020 in Davao City, counting two PSA birth certificates, two CENOMARs and the city's license fees. Nuptials.ph says a civil wedding can cost under ₱10,000 including paperwork and officiant fees.
How much does wedding catering cost per head in the Philippines?
Nuptials.ph gives a full-course meal from around ₱500 to ₱1,000 per person, and one Metro Manila caterer lists ₱345 to ₱1,250 across all its events. Ask whether a quote includes service charge and VAT before comparing two caterers.
How much does a church wedding cost?
Metrobank's 2021 article puts the church itself at ₱6,000 to ₱15,000, including the officiating fee, altar and choir. Nuptials.ph says ₱5,000 to ₱25,000 in 2025, higher for a sought-after parish. Air-conditioned churches charge extra.
How much does an intimate wedding cost in the Philippines?
Nuptials.ph reported ₱50,000 to ₱250,000 for 20 to 50 guests in June 2025, compiled from Filipino wedding forums and budget breakdowns. A city-hall ceremony sits at the low end and a boutique venue with catering at the high end.
What is the biggest expense at a Philippine wedding?
Catering. Nuptials.ph says it takes about 45 to 50 percent of a wedding budget, and it is priced per guest, so guest count moves the total more than any other choice.
Is it cheaper to get married outside Metro Manila?
Nuptials.ph says Metro Manila venues tend to cost more than provincial ones, but we found no dated percentage. Get quotes in your actual city, and note that peak months and weekends may also raise prices.
